Hi,
I grew up in Martin in the 80's & 90's and would really like to see any old photos anyone may have of the village. I've seen a couple of 1940's photo of the high street and the chapel that my grandad has but I'd love to see more. We recently did our own investigation into the construction of the airfield as he lived there as a boy. I found studying the old maps really interesting and while I was looking in Lincoln library I came across a couple of old newspaper images of the village. Unfortunately they were really poor quality. If any of you have any vintage photos scanned and/or would be willing to share them I'd really appreciate it. Or even if you know where I could access any, that'd be great. I'm not after any shots in particular I'm just interested in the history of the village so if you have any stories of place that no longer exists (like the old fueling pumps that used to be outside Smalley's garage on the high street) I'd love to hear them.
You can contact me on here or via email at jon.chambers@hotmail.co.uk.
Cheers,
JC
