As the title mentions, we will be staying a couple of days in Martin to research my family history. We are coming from Vancouver Island, Canada for the visit.
My mothers family were Lupton and I have traced them back well into the 1700's in Martin, Dunston and area, but there are many gaps.
I'll be visiting the church yards to look at grave markers but I am wondering if there are other resources I should visit. Does Martin, Dunston, etc have a town hall with archives available to the public or are there local museums with old photos etc. ? Any suggestions you locals have would be very much appreciated.
I also wonder if there are still Luptons in the local phone books ?

Hello Galiano
Welcome to the forums, but please do try to refrain from spamming the forums with the same post.
I would suggest that whilst you are in the area to pay a visit to the Lincolnshire Archives, which is located in the nearby City of Lincoln (approx 15 miles from Martin.) More details on the Archive can be found at http://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/residents/archives/
Please note that in order to gain access to the Lincolnshire Archives, you will need to apply for a 'reader ticket' of which is explained here: http://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/reader-tickets/100621.article
Hope this helps!
